3rd Legal and ethical accountability for A.I. in finance Workshop
Tuesday 9 November 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
FreeFor Fin-ML Students: 2 UNITS – PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
As AI becomes an integral part of the financial industry, students and professionals alike should have a basic level of understanding of the underlying governance applicable to their work, including legal and ethical questions.
The goal of this 2-hour interactive workshop “Legal and ethical accountability for A.I. in finance” is to help develop that basic understanding to enable students and professionals to navigate these omnipresent questions in a professional setting. This is because AI technology underpinning any given technology-based financial service should by no means be perceived as being legally independent from its enabling persons or organizations. Legal liability and ethical duties apply to financial services however technology-based they are. In other words, people and organizations “behind” AI are accountable for it and thus bear legal and ethical responsibility for its impacts.
Without possessing in-depth knowledge, one should have an overall understanding of the relevant legal and ethical components underlying AI-driven solutions. This workshop encourages awareness of these components by presenting a high leveled but comprehensive picture of legal and ethical accountability framework for AI in the financial industry.
